A total of 506 members of PDF groups including 453 men and 53 women, have returned to the legal fold, surrendering weapons and ammunition, and were handed back to their parents or guardians.

The ceremony was held at the Central Command Headquarters, attended by Mandalay Region Chief Minister U Myo Aung, Commander Brig-Gen Aung Htay, and responsible officials. The returnees handed over 78 weapons, grenades, ammunition, mines, communication devices, and protective gear.

Authorities provided cash rewards and assistance worth about 200 million kyats. The returnees chose to abandon armed activities and rejoin society under the government’s peace process. Authorities also encouraged others who wish to return to contact local administrative, military, or police offices for support.
