Annual Meeting of UMFCCI: DPM MoPF Union Minister addressed the meeting

The 32nd Annual Meeting of the Union of Myanmar Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (UMFCCI) was held at the National Theatre in Yangon on Saturday with the presence of the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance.

First, chairman of the UMFCCI,  U Aye Win delivered a welcome speech. Then, the Deputy Prime Minister Union Minister for Planning and Finance U Win Shein gave a speech highlighting the crucial role of private sector comprised of investment, creativity, human resource and technology in economic development of the country. 

For the sustainable economic development, the value creation and job opportunities created by the private sector are necessary, he added. He also stressed that the government is actively implementing on the long-term development of local private businesses in all aspects. Likewise, collaborative efforts are made to create export market for the private entrepreneurs.

Therefore, the entrepreneurs are encouraged to adopt the business ethics in doing businesses for the interests of the nation. As the government is making concerted efforts for the stabilization of financial and economic sector of the nation, the UMFCCI and affiliated associations are urged to cooperate with the government for the sustainable economic development of the country, he added.

Then, the Union Minister for Commerce U Tun Ohn delivered a speech. Afterward, the annual report and financial statement of the UMFCCI and Audit report of the JF Group-Certified Public Accountants & Auditors were submitted.

Then, the annual report and financial statement were confirmed and an external audit is appointed for 2023-2024 Fiscal Year. Then, the chairman of the UMFCCI delivered a closing remark followed by a photo session and a tour through exhibitions.
