National Food Safety: Workshop on roles and responsibilities for policy

Union Minister for Health Dr. Thet Khaing Win on Thursday addressed a workshop on roles and responsibilities regarding the National Food Safety Policy at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

In his address, the Union Minister stressed the importance of food safety for good health and highlighted the difficulties in supervising food safety activities due to a growing population and developing technologies. In order to ensure safety along the food chain from food production to consumption, all must comply with international practices.

The Union Minister also called for cooperation with related departments throughout the food chain. And, attendees made discussions on the roles and responsibilities regarding the National Food Safety Policy. It’s reported that this workshop will take place till the 3rd of May.
