Alms-Food Offering: Ceremony For Sharing Merits Dedicating To The Fallen Martyrs

A ceremony for sharing merits dedicating to the martyrs of national independence was held at Nay Pyi Taw City Hall on Tuesday.

The congregation led by member of the State Administration Council Union Minister for Transport and Commutations Admiral Tin Aung San took the Five Precepts from Vice Chairman of the State SanghaMahaNayaka Committee BuddhantaKawvida. Later, the Union Minister and party donated offertories to members of the Sangha led by the Vice Chairman Sayadaw.

They then shared merits dedicating to the fallen martyrs. After the ceremony, the Union Minister and party offered alms food for day meal to the Sayadaws and monks. Similarly, alms food offering ceremony to monks as a commemoration service to the martyrs of national independence was held at the City Hall of Yangon City Development Committee on the same day.

Union Minister for Religion Affairs and Culture U KoKo, Yangon Region Chief Minister U SoeThein and officials attended the ceremony and received the Five Precepts from Sayadaw. They also donatedoffertories to Sayadaw and monks and shared the merits. The Union Minister and party also donated day meal to members of the Sangha.
