






The State Administration Council is supporting various sectors for the development of the agricultural sector as well as conducting research activities that will directly benefit to farmers including production research, applied technology research by increasing research expenditures.
It was said by Union Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation U Tin Htut Oo at the coordination meeting on research and technological development held at the Department of Agricultural Research in Yezin, Nay Pyi Taw Zeyathiri Township.
In his opening remarks, the Union Minister said that it was necessary to systematically manage the use of funds and the effective use of human resources. The Union Minister stressed the departments in the universities to have more connectivity each other in implementing technical transfer in various ways.
He also urged officials to discuss to expand and reform researches that are compatible with climate changes, changes in consumer preferences and market demand changes and the needs to implement and achieve Agriculture 4.0 to promote agricultural productivity.
Later, the Union Minister, the Deputy Minister and attendees viewed new Paw San Hmwe rice paddy strains, pea nuts and Myanmar tomato strains as well as new crops. These new crops will be made seed registration soon.
After getting permission, seed distribution will continue through seed producers. Officials reported on making research and technological development of respective departments, future research programs, farmer education, new crop research projects and educative projects, implementation of mechanized farming on six new crop items in cooperation with the Department of Agriculture and Agricultural Mechanization Department.
The Union Minister and party also attended demonstration of soil development equipment on that day.
