Academic Tour: MOE Union Minister tours in Ayeyawady Region

Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein, together with Deputy Minister Dr. Zaw Myint and concerned officials, visited Hinthada University in Hinthada Township of Ayeyawady Region on Friday.

The Union Minister and party met with the Rector, Pro-rector, professors, lecturers and faculty members at the university. Speaking at the meeting, the Union Minister said that student centered education systems have been implemented to meet the global trends and to ensure smooth research process in education sector.

As the University is conducting subjects on fisheries and agricultural chemistry, the Union Minister stressed the needs to connect teaching and research works for the benefits of country’s livestock and agriculture sector. The lecturers are urged to participate in writing research papers and continuous conducting research works.

The Union Minister instructed for strong distance education system, using reference from AI technology in teaching and making curriculums as well as in the work places according to country’s current situations and procedures, providing guidelines to the students for systematic using of AI. 

  The Union Minister instructed for adopting Standard Operating Procedure (SOP), comprising committees for proper management of cleaning and greening processes and renovation works of the university.  In order to upgrade univeristy’s management and uplift image, University Charter is needed to update to meet the current global trends.

The Deputy Minister also clarified the provision of the needs for the university during 2026-2027 Fiscal Year and the Rector reported matters on upgrading the university football field and the Union Minister coordinated the needs. They later proceeded to the Basic Education High School (Kanaung), met with the Grade-12 students and made encouragement.

During the meeting with principal, teachers, townselders and parents, the Union Minister stressed the need to ensure security of exam questions for Grade-5, Grade-9 and Grade-12, to provide smooth and convenient measures for exam taker students and to achieve high matriculation examination pass rate. The Union Minister also provided cash rewards for the school. The Union Minister concluded the tour after visiting No.2 Basic Education High School (Myan Aung).
