Abu Dhabi has opened the Middle East’s largest Natural History Museum, a 35,000-square-metre venue showcasing major global fossils and rare planetary specimens. The museum features two of the most complete Tyrannosaurus rex skeletons ever discovered. Additional highlights include a towering Triceratops and extensive collections sourced from North America and Europe. Curators describe the fossils as priceless, reflecting years of international collaboration.

Phil Manning, director of science, Natural History Museum (Abu Dhabi) said "There are many highlights, not least the meteorites, many of the dinosaurs, and the taxidermy in our galleries, but there are two fossils which are very special. Many museums have one Tyrannosaurus rex. We in Abu Dhabi have two, and they're both spectacular, beautifully preserved, and two of the most complete T. rexes known to science."

The museum’s narrative spans 13.8 billion years, from the universe’s formation to the present day. A key attraction is a 45.8-kilogramme lunar rock displayed in the meteorite gallery. Visitors are allowed to touch the specimen, believed to have landed on Earth thousands of years ago.
