








The Rakhine State Government organized the Full Moon Day of Thadingyut (Abhidhamma Day) oil lamp offering ceremony and hot air balloons releasing event on the evening of October 6th in Sittwe, at the Lawkananda Pagoda, Atula Marazain Pyilone Chanthar Pagoda, and Yanpye Manpye Pagoda. The Chief Minister of Rakhine State, U Htein Lin, and his wife, members of the State Government and their wives, departmental officials, teachers, students, and local residents attended the event.
First, the Chief Minister and his wife, along with members of the State Government, paid homage and respectfully offered flowers, water, and oil lamps to the Buddha images inside the Lokananda Pagoda.
Afterwards, the Chief Minister and officials toured the prepared oil lamp on the platform of Lawkananda Pagoda, and cordially greeted the departmental officials and local residents who attended the lighting festival.
Afterwards, the Chief Minister and his wife led the lighting and offering of oil lamps, with department staff and local people joyfully participating in the oil lamp lighting and offering. Subsequently, the Chief Minister and his wife, along with members of the state government, together with department staff and local people, joyfully released and hot air balloons on the pagoda platform.
Then, the Chief Minister and his wife, along with members of the state government, visited the Yan Pyae Man Pyae Pagoda and the Atula Marazin Pyilone Chantha Pagoda to pay homage and respectfully observe. Department staff and local people viewed and worshiped the oil lamps lit in the pagoda courtyard, and together with the local people, released and worshiped sky lanterns.
It has been reported that the Thadingyut oil lamp festival and sky lantern release ceremony held at the Lawkananda Pagoda, Atula Marazin Pyilone Chantha Pagoda, and Yan Pyae Man Pyae Pagoda were attended with special enthusiasm by department staff and local people.
