At the meeting, the Union Minister and Attorney General of the Union delivered opening remarks, followed by Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board U Aung Thaw.
He explained that, based on the Board’s review, training and development for civil servants are necessary to improve their capabilities and foster the right mindset. Civil servants are required to attend training sessions prescribed according to their rank by the Civil Service Board.
In addition, those being considered for higher leadership roles need to develop management skills suitable for those roles. To this end, civil servants selected for promotion to senior management positions are encouraged to participate in advanced leadership courses offered by other ministries and organizations.
The third amendment to the Civil Service Law aims to support these goals, and its enactment will have long-term benefits for building a stable and effective civil service. Linking training with promotion will further support the development of a competent civil service. Union Minister and Union Attorney General Dr. Thida Oo highlighted that the third amendment draft of the Civil Service Law is essential for the state and expressed that it requires final approval. This meeting served as a platform to finalize the coordination necessary for the law’s enactment.
