Monsoon Activity: Tree planting event at Ngalaik Dam

The Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation held its 2026 monsoon tree-planting ceremony at the Ngalaik Dam in Ottarathiri Township, Nay Pyi Taw, on Saturday.

Union Minister U Min Naung, deputy ministers, officials and staff planted 350 trees, including 150 teak and 200 mahogany saplings. A day earlier, they also planted 236 coffee plants at Office No. 43 in Nay Pyi Taw. The ministry said trees planted during its annual monsoon campaigns are regularly maintained, with a survival rate of about 90%.
