



Under the guidance of Chin State Government, 2022 pre-monsoon perennial crop seedlings and vegetable seed presentation ceremony was held at Kyaw Boke orchard farm in Hakha on Tuesday.
At the event, Chin State Chief Minister U Ngun San Aung said that for the development of agriculture sector and food sufficiency, it is encouraging to the annual crop change and cultivation of perennial crops and also distributing quality seeds such as paddy, corn, wheat and oil crops to the farmers.
It also needs to extend crop cultivating acres and to apply the Good Agriculture Practice (GAP) for the high yield. Only when it conducts increasing income of the people and food sufficiency in the State, the socio-economic life of the people will improve. Officials reported on the results of crop research to provide food sufficiency in Chin State, implementation for hybrid sunflower strains, high land paddy pilot plot, distribution of paddy strains in the state, earthworm farming and production of worm-cast fertilizer. In response to the reports, the Chief Minister coordinated essentials.
The Chief Minister, the State Ministers and party then inspected the displays of lab apparatuses and seeds at the land apply lab as well as pilot plots of corn variety, high land paddy strains and the model research plantations of grape fruit, strawberry and tomato at the Kyaw Boke orchard.
It was followed by a ceremony to present perennial crop seedlings and vegetable seeds at the Kyaw Boke Orchard. The Chief Minister and party then presented the saplings and seeds to the farmers.
