10th ASEAN Quiz: Selection of contestants for the Quiz

The 10th ASEAN Quiz (Regional Level) will be hosted by Myanmar in December this year. For this competition, 10th ASEAN Quiz (National Level) competition will be held at Myanmar Radio & Television in Yangon on 1st June.

For this competition, the ASEAN member states organize once in two years. This time, Myanmar will host the competition. For national level, students from all over the country are invited to participate in the contest.

Zeyar , Director, Myanmar Radio & Television said "For ASEAN Quiz competition, we have 3 levels, 1st level is State and Division level, another one is National level and the last one is regional level. We will be hosting this competition in December 2022. We will be organizing writing and oral test for that competition. After that, we will select 10 finalists for the ASEAN Quiz for national level. From those 10 contestants, we will select 5 finalists to participate in Regional level competition."

More than 34 students aged between 15 and 18 across the nation are selected for the 10th ASEAN Quiz (National level) competition.

Hnin Pwint Aung, Contestant, B.E.H.S (1), Hpa-An said "I studied from many several from Google, PDF files and so many informations. I’ll try my best. This is my 1st time and I didn’t know that before. I’m interesting in socio culture; I like countries’ traditional dress and their costume. That’s why I like their culture very much. You guys should try this competition. We got so many experiences. "

Myo Set Aung, Contestant, B.E.H.S (1), Hpa-An said "I’ve make many things for this competitions. I prepared for this competition since November 2021 and learned from the website like ASEAN 101. I’ve never been like participated in this competition. This is my first time but I am Ok and I feel so cool. I am interesting most in ASCC like ASEAN Socio Culture Community because it has many things about costume, traditional and dishes. I want to learn more about ASCC. So, I am here right now. "

The panel of judges will select 10 finalists based on the results of the contestant’s written and oral tests. These 10 finalists will have to compete at the National Level contest. Out of ten, 5 will be selected again for the regional level contest.

Zin Mar Nwe, Teacher, B.E.H.S (1), Magway said "We trained the students for the learing with the sources from internet and provided by MRTV. ASEAN Quiz is not only for the children but also for us. So, the contest is a great program for young people. "

Myanmar will host the 10th ASEAN Quiz (Regional level) in coming December this year and the top 3 winners from national level contest will participate in the regional level contest, representing Myanmar.
