Pa-O National Day: 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee celebration in Taunggyi

A commemorative ceremony of 75th Anniversary Diamond Jubilee of Pa-O National Day was celebrated at the Pa-O National Comprehensive Development ground in Kangyi ward of Taunggyi on 24th March.

At the ceremony, the Pa-O people hoisted the Pa-O national flag and the state flag of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar where the attendees saluted the flags and paid tribute to the fallen martyrs.

Next, Pa-O National Leader Phra Tan Sin, Pha Aung Kham Hti delivered an opening speech. Shan State Chief Minister U Aung Aung then said Pa-O ethnic people mostly live in Shan State (south), and they are honest and devout people.

Successive governments have cooperated with special attention for peace and development of Pa-O region. He added that the SAC government realizes the wishes and desires of the Pa-O ethnic people, and urged all to cooperate with the government for peace and stability of the region.

Next, an official from Hsiseng Township Pa-O Literature and Culture Association clarified the status of Pa-O people.

Afterwards, Chief Minister provided 10 million kyats for the Pa-O National Day festival from the Shan State Government. Chairman of the organizing committee Phra Khun Win accepted the provisions and returned the certificate of honor and commemorative gifts.
