Int’l Day of Forests: Roundtable discussion on forest development held

The celebration for the International Day of Forests was held at Ingyin Hall of the Forest Department in Nay Pyi Taw and attended and gave an opening remark by the Deputy Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation.

In his opening remark, the Deputy Minister said that the International Day of Forests is annually celebrated with themes to remind for the conservation of forests which are essential for the basic needs, health and prosperity of the human beings on the world.

This year’s theme is “Forest and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World”. In line with the theme, the Forest Department is implementing the conservation of natural resources and forests and the forest research works with the collaboration of cutting-edge technologies such as IT, GIS, Laboratory technologies etc. and the innovations.

Next, the Director General of the Forest Department Dr. Thaung Naing Oo clarified the keynote presentation of the theme for the International Day of Forest “Forest and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World”, Video marked the International Day of Forest was screened and the roundtable discussions comprising of the experienced Senior forest officials, M.Sc degree holders youth and experts on the forestry sector on the analyzing and clarifying by the PhD degree holders youth as per the sector for the development of forestry sector of Myanmar.
