Dinner Reception: Commemorative reception for artistes and winners

A dinner reception in honour of the 27th Myanmar Traditional Cultural Performing Arts Competition was held at the Myanmar International Convention Center (1) in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the reception and gave a congratulatory speech. He praised the efforts of all those involved in the successful holding of the competition, at which 195 gold medals, 167 silver medals, 165 bronze medals, two consolation prizes and two special awards were presented. He called for the cooperation of all artistes and officials in preserving traditional culture and fostering nationalistic fervour amid the influence of modern technology.

He also expressed his hope for the flourishing of Myanmar traditional cultural arts and the emergence of a new generation of artists. Then, the certificates of honour were presented to the members of judges for singing, dancing, song composing and playing musical instruments as well as managers of region and state teams, masters of ceremonies and Chairman of Myanmar Theatrical Drama Association (Central). Artistes from Fine Arts Department, winners of the competitions, ethnic cultural troupes and veteran artists performed with songs and dances during the reception.
