Tourism Development: MOCHT Union Minister inspects hotels in Yangon

Union Minister for Culture, Hotels and Tourism U Khin Maung Soe inspected hotels in Yangon on Friday, to promote the development of the hotel and tourism industry and improve service standards.

During the visit, officials from Myanmar Hotels International (MHI) Co., Ltd. and the joint-venture hotels, Inya Lake Hotel, The Strand Hotel and Hotel G, reported on hotel operations, room arrangements, maintenance and preparations for the upcoming tourist season.

The Union Minister urged hotels to provide quality services to local and international visitors, prepare to welcome more tourists, and provide regular staff training to improve skills and professional standards. He also stressed the importance of following hotel regulations, preserving historic features and cultural heritage, and combining traditional Myanmar culture with modern design.

The Union Minister also coordinated with officials to address the needs of the hotels and support the continued development of Yangon’s hotel and tourism sector.
