A capacity-building programme for MSME entrepreneurs and startups took place at the City Hall in Mandalay on Saturday. The programme was jointly organized by the Ministry of Industry and MSME Development and the Myanmar Women Entrepreneurs Network to strengthen business skills and promote entrepreneurship.

Union Minister Dr. Charlie Than attended the event and made a speech, highlighting the importance of innovation, digital technology, market research, financial management and product quality in developing successful businesses.

He encouraged young entrepreneurs to use local resources to produce value-added products, create jobs and support regional economic growth. He also stressed the need for cooperation among the government, private sector, MSMEs and educational institutions to promote business development, replace imports and increase exports.

The event included presentations on the 2026 startup development programme, an exhibition of MSME products, discussions on business financing and market strategies, and a panel discussion on building sustainable businesses. The two-day programme will run from October 17 to 18.
