Turkish world’s traditions take to the runway

The colors and traditions of the Turkic world came together on the runway in Izmir, as the city hosted the 9th TÜRKSOY Women and Ethno-Fashion Gathering following events in Ankara and Nevsehir.

Held at the ancient Agora archaeological site, the fashion show attracted considerable interest. Dedicated to the 35th anniversary of the independence of the Turkic republics, the event celebrated the region’s traditional clothing and Anatolia’s rich weaving heritage through contemporary designs.

The programme opened with a collection of Anatolian wedding dresses prepared by the Izmir Maturation Institute, followed by outfits inspired by traditional motifs from across the Turkic world. Dance and music performances also featured in the event.
