Firefighting : Kayah State CM addresses Refresher Course

Kayah State Chief Minister U Ang Maw attended the opening ceremony of the Auxiliary Fire Brigade Refresher Course No. 1/2026, organized by the Kayah State Fire Services Department, on October 9.

In his opening address, the Chief Minister urged trainees to learn diligently the firefighting techniques, equipment handling, and modern search and rescue methods taught in the course so they can swiftly and effectively carry out firefighting and search and rescue operations during fires and natural disasters, safeguard the lives and property of the public, and perform public service duties.

He also called on the trainees to participate voluntarily from their respective roles should El Niño events occur. Following his address, the Chief Minister provided financial support for uniforms. A total of 50 auxiliary firefighters are attending the course, which will deliver both theoretical and practical lessons over a four-week period.
