Hluttaw Procedures: Study tour to Hluttaw session

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker U Khin Yi met with visiting lecturers and university students supervised by Professor Dr. Daw Thi Thi Lwin, Head of the Department of Law from Yangon University of Distance Education at the Hluttaw Building in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

The Speaker expressed his appreciation on visiting students, saying he believed that the students will gain experience in person on Hluttaw's implementations and discussions. Explaining the Hluttaw's systems and mechanism, the Speaker stressed to understand Hluttaw's efforts serving as a bridge connecting government and the public.

The Speaker said 22 committees under the Pyithu Hluttaw effectively support the hluttaw in carrying out its main responsibilities, such as legislation, representing the people, and coordinating with the executive and judicial branches as well as existing laws are being reviewed in line with the times to provide legal protection to the public.

Recently, the Anti-Online Scam Bill is approved during the 2nd regular meeting to effectively take legal actions on online scam activities. The Speaker called for frank and open discussions on legal affairs and matters conducted by the Hluttaw.
