Rural Development: MCRD Union Minister tours in Taikkyi

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein met with members of agriculture cooperative association in Taikkyi Township, Yangon Region on Thursday morning.

During the meeting, the instructions were given to work achieving target yields through cooperation. Departmental official reported on the ongoing process of agriculture and livestock farming that were operated by cooperative system. The Union Minister instructed to achieve the target yield by systematic farming and cooperation strength while also working on cultivation processes including seed, soil, water, and technology.

He also called for joint collaboration measure on cultivating which could lead to lower production costs, proper cultivation methods, good crop quality and high yields outcomes as a result. The Union Minister also give instruction to officials to facilitate the acquisition of necessary capital and ensure markets for farmers.

Based on current existing cooperative groups, the Union Minister called to expand their outreach to organize and encourage local community. The Union Minister also warned about the potential super El Niño impacts for upcoming cultivation season and coordinated the needs for member farmers. Following this, the Union Minister visited  five other villages in the township where he presented the capital loans for seeds and inputs to member farmers. During the tour, the  Union Minister observed the exhibition of agricultural and livestock products by cooperatives in Taikkyi Township, as well as the display of chemical and natural fertilizers.
