Parliamentary Affairs : Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker meets with Yangon Region Reps.

Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker and Vice-Chairman of the Myanmar Parliamentary Union (MPU) U Khin Yi met with Yangon Region Hluttaw representatives at the Yangon Region Hluttaw office on Saturday.

During the meeting, U Khin Yi called for closer coordination between the Union-level and Region/State Hluttaws to strengthen legislative work and to ensure implementation of parliamentary procedures in line with the laws. He urged Hluttaw Representatives to actively represent the needs and voices of their constituents, follow parliamentary rules and procedures, and help promote the development of their constituencies.

He also highlighted the need to review existing laws and introduce or amend laws in line with current conditions. He encouraged Hluttaw representatives to pay attention to matters related to rule of law, public safety and drainage in the region. Yangon Region Hluttaw Speaker U Htay Aung reported on the Hluttaw's work activities, and the Pyithu Hluttaw Speaker coordinated the needs.
