Ceremony to Distribute Books: MOE UM delivered the opening address

Education reforms implemented during the 100-day programme should not be considered complete simply because they were carried out within the designated period, but should instead continue based on findings from reviews and assessments, Union Minister for Education Dr. Chaw Chaw Sein said at a ceremony in Nay Pyi Taw to distribute books documenting the work completed by the Ministry of Education during its 100-day programme held in the meeting hall of Office No. 13 on the morning of September 29.

The Union Minister continued saying that while some tasks had been completed during the 100-day period, others would need to be pursued as short-, medium- and long-term programmes. During the period, research and assessments were conducted on the work undertaken in basic education, higher education, teacher education and other relevant sectors. The findings were compiled and presented in reports.

The relevant departments will continue implementing education reforms based on the strengths, weaknesses, assessments and findings identified in the reports, the minister said, adding that the reports would also serve as historical records of the development of the country’s education sector. At the ceremony, directors-general from the respective departments gave presentations on the books documenting the work completed during the 100-day programme. The Union minister then delivered concluding remarks, it’s reported.
