Russia Trip: Saint Petersburg Int’l United Cultures Forum

Union Minister for Culture, Hotels and Tourism U Maung Myint attended the 12th Saint Petersburg International United Cultures Forum held in Saint Petersburg of the Russian Federation, from September 24 to September 26.

On September 24, the Union Minister and his delegation visited and observed the Catherine Palace Museum. On the morning of September 25, during the forum, he participated in discussions regarding plans for the long-term conservation of the cultural heritage of primates discovered in Myanmar dating back 40 million years, Myanmar-Russia cultural cooperation plans, and the key role of cultural heritage in the future development of human society.

In the evening, along with ministers and department heads from invited countries, he attended the event where Russian President Vladimir Putin delivered an address. Additionally, the Union Minister answered interviews conducted by Russian news agencies.

On the morning of September 26, he attended an award ceremony honoring organizations and individuals who contributed to the successful hosting of the forum. He also answered further interviews with Russian news agencies and presented explanations during sectoral discussion sessions. The Union Minister returned to Myanmar by air on the evening of September 28.
