Aid Provision: Ministry of Border Affairs provides aid in Myitkyina

Union Minister for Border Affairs Lieutenant General Phone Myat attended a food supply distribution ceremony for temporarily displaced persons in Myitkyina on September 29, jointly organized by the Ministry of Border Affairs and the Kachin State Government.

In his opening remarks, the Union Minister stated that in line with the guidance of the Head of State, the Ministry of Border Affairs is continuously implementing tasks for the socio-economic and infrastructure development of ethnic nationalities in border areas, as well as human resource development for ethnic youth, without leaving any gap between the state and the mainland. He added that necessary assistance and support are being provided to areas damaged by violent incidents, and relief supplies are also being distributed to displaced persons based on the allocated budget per fiscal year.

Highlighting that regional peace and stability are directly proportional to development, he noted that regional development tasks can only be enhanced when there are peace and stability. And, he urged local ethnic residents to cooperate and participate in their respective roles in regional peace and stability processes.

Following this, the Union Minister and the State Chief Minister presented basic foodstuffs to the temporarily displaced persons, and an ethnic representative expressed gratitude on behalf of the displaced people. The State Chief Minister then offered words of encouragement to the IDPs, and the Union Minister addressed and fulfilled the difficulties presented by the residents.
