Tatmadaw have been carrying out area security and dominance operations along the Kamamaung–Hpapun route, which had been temporarily held by joint terrorist insurgent groups including the so-called PDF, operating under the proxy of the NUG and CRPH terrorist organizations, alongside the KNU and KNLA.

Along this route, joint terrorist insurgent groups detonated mines and destroyed roads and bridges with malice and complete disregard for the public. In response, Tatmadaw collaborated with relevant officials to repair and reconstruct the damaged infrastructure.

As a result, construction on the Yaepu Bridge was completed on June 23, 2026; the Mile-40 Bridge on June 24, 2026; and the Kanyindon Bridge on August 24, 2026. Vehicles and travelers are now able to commute across these roads and bridges as normal. It is further reported that Tatmadaw will continue efforts, with the cooperation of local residents, to regain control of and reopen the remaining sections of the Kamamaung–Hpapun route as quickly as possible.
