Welcoming Ceremony: Cooperation between Myanmar and Thai Armed Forces

Chief of Royal Thai Armed Forces General UkrisBoontanondha on Wednesday, hosted a welcoming ceremony for Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services General Ye Win Oo, who is in Bangkok to attend the 9th Thailand-Myanmar High Level Committee Meeting.

The two leaders took their places on the dais, and received the salute of the Guard of Honour, along with the playing of the national anthems of the two countries. In the subsequent meeting, the two sides discussed matters on friendly relations between the two neighbours, implementation of the bilateral agreements, further enhancement of cooperation, collaboration between the two governments and the two armies for prevailing peace in border areas and promoting border trade.

They also talked about combating illegal trade and online scam operations in border areas, eradicating the drug trafficking, transnational crimes and arms smuggling. The discussion also focused on Myanmar's cooperation in ASEAN, conducting exchange programs and strengthening cooperation and friendship between the two armies.
