Illegal Trade Eradication : Vice President addresses coordination meeting

The 1/2026 coordination meeting of the Illegal Trade Eradicating Steering Committee was held on August 18 at the Union Government Office, attended by the Steering Committee Chairman, Vice President U Nyo Saw.

During the meeting, the Vice President detailed and instructed on several key topics including seizures of illegal trade during April, May, June, and July 2026, implementation status of directives issued by the President, conducting orderly inspections at border checkpoints and taking legal action to prevent and inspect illegal transport of goods, ensuring safe and smooth flow of goods along trade routes, and expanding the electronic container tracking system (E-Lock system) across all trade routes and anti-illegal trade operations as a national duty to eliminate and reduce illicit trade.

Following his address, attendees discussed the implementation status of decisions from the previous meeting, upcoming work plans, and the ongoing anti-illegal trade operations and general matters across relevant ministries. And, the Vice President reviewed the discussions and provided necessary guidance.
