









During an official goodwill visit in Moscow of the Russian Federation, President U Min Aung Hlaing met with Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Vladimirovich Mishustin on August 18.
The Russian Prime Minister stated that strategic partnership cooperation between Myanmar and Russia would be further enhanced, highlighting Myanmar as an important partner and ally for Russia in Asia, Southeast Asia, and the Asia-Pacific region. He added that comprehensive, multi-sectoral cooperation between the two countries would be expanded further.
In response, the President discussed that it was his 14th visit to the Russian Federation and his first official state goodwill visit since assuming the presidency. He expressed confidence that this meeting would allow for warm and open discussions on friendship, mutual trust, and multi-sectoral cooperation between the two nations.
And, they cordially exchanged views on promoting bilateral friendship and cooperation across trade, investment, agriculture, digital technology, industry, education, healthcare, religion and culture, maritime and transport, tourism, sports, and livestock sectors, opportunities for collaboration in micro, small and medium enterprises, advancing educational cooperation, including sending scholars to train qualified human resources essential for national development, ongoing cooperation in satellite and aerospace technologies following the signing of the agreement between the governments of Myanmar and Russia on "Cooperation in the Exploration and Use of Outer Space for Peaceful Purposes and joint selection and training efforts with Russia to enable Myanmar astronauts to participate in space missions.
