Proving Cultivation Subsidies : MCRD UM delivered the opening address

A ceremony to provide cultivation subsidies to farmers participating in the Rice Export Zones within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area was held Saturday morning at the site of the rice mill and bran oil mill of Myanmar Agricultural Enterprise Public Company Limited (MAPCO Group), located beside the old Yangon-Mandalay Road in Pyinmana Township.

Union Minister for Cooperatives and Rural Development U Myo Zaw Thein attended and delivered a speech.

First, Union Minister U Myo Zaw Thein spoke about the objectives of establishing Rice Export Zones and the directives of the President urging private entrepreneurs to make greater investments in the agriculture and livestock sector.

He also stated that the government is providing financial support of 250,000 kyats per acre of cultivated land through the Country’s Economic Promotion Fund, and that at this ceremony, a total of 560 million kyats would be provided to farmers from 10 villages across 5 townships within the Nay Pyi Taw Council Area.

Next, Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr. Charlie Than delivered a speech and presented gifts to officials from India's Aditya Engineers Group.

Afterward, Deputy Minister for Agriculture, Livestock and Irrigation Dr. Ye Tint Tun delivered a speech.

Subsequently, U Ye Min Aung, Chairman of Myanmar Agricultural Enterprise Public Company Limited (MAPCO Group), explained the ongoing operations.

Following that, the Deputy Ministers and the Pyinmana Township Pyithu Hluttaw representative jointly presented cultivation costs totaling 560 million kyats for 2,800 acres of farmland cultivated by 522 farmers from 10 villages across 5 townships. Nay Pyi Taw Council members also presented seeders.

Afterwards, a farmer representative presented an explanation of rice production, export, and sales, as well as the challenges encountered in agricultural operations.

After that, the Union Ministers and attendees inspected factory exhibitions, agricultural machinery exhibitions, input supply exhibitions, and the ongoing refurbishment of a 240-ton rice mill, it’s reported.
