Academic Group Meeting : Matters on prevention of hazards from chemicals discussed

The Academic Group Meeting on Prevention of Hazards from Chemicals and Related Substances was held on the morning of August 14 at Meeting Hall, Office No. (30), Ministry of Industry and MSME Development.

Deputy Minister Dr. Aung Zeya attended and delivered the opening speech.

In his opening speech, the Deputy Minister, stated that the Central Supervisory Committee and the Central Steering Committee for Prevention of Hazards from Chemicals and Related Substances had each held one meeting already.

He mentioned that at those coordination meetings, directives had been issued to collaborate with relevant departments and organizations to conduct training courses. He also noted that the detailed guidelines regarding business licenses for chemicals and related substances would be explained by the leader of the Academic Group.

He urged all attendees to openly and frankly discuss and provide input in order to ensure compliance with existing laws and regulations etc.

Subsequently, the leader of the Academic Group for Prevention of Hazards from Chemicals and Related Substances clarified and presented matters concerning the issuance of business licenses for chemicals and related substances, the opening of training courses on chemical management and waste management, and the status of on-site inspection activities.
