Industrial Sector: Workshop to Develop Industrial Training Schools

Union Minister for Industry and MSME Development Dr. Charlie Than addressed a workshop on August 11 to identify ways to develop industrial training schools.

At the workshop, the Union Minister stated the need to modernize Myanmar's Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) system. He emphasized that the global job market's demands are rapidly changing due to the accelerated pace of technological advancement, including the rise of Artificial Intelligence, Automation, Robotics, Digital Manufacturing, and Smart Industry. In line with these changes, a country's competitiveness is increasingly determined by high-quality Human Resources rather than natural resources.

Therefore, he stressed that industrial training schools must produce skilled individuals capable of immediately entering the workforce. Subsequently, responsible officials presented and discussed key areas for the future development of industrial training schools, including administration, information, management, cooperation, upgrading curricula and teaching-learning systems and teaching resources and instructor quality. And, attendees provided suggestions and engaged in discussions. Following this, participants discussed ways to prepare for the development of industrial training schools.
