Reservoir Experienced a Breach: YGN Region CM closely supervised repair operations

In Thanlyin Township, Yangon Region, a Sat Kan (reservoir) located within the premises of Refinery No. 1 in the Petroleum Quarter experienced a breach at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Yangon Region Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and members of the region government arrived at the site, where responsible officials briefed them on the situation. Subsequently, a total of 700 personnel including relevant departmental officials, military personnel, fire brigade members, police officers, local residents, and other responsible individuals carried out reinforcement and maintenance works on the reservoir using sandbags, wooden poles, and machinery to prevent floodwaters from entering nearby residential areas.

Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu and region government members inspected the ongoing efforts, and the Chief Minister issued necessary directives. Afterward, Chief Minister U Aung Naing Thu presented cash awards to those who had been actively participating in the relief and repair operations, it’s reported.
