Sports Sector: MOSA Union Minister tours in Myeik

Union Minister for Sports Affairs U Ye Myint Tun made an inspection tour in Myeik of Tanintharyi region, aiming to promote Sports standard in the region.

On 8th August, the Union Minister held a coordination meeting with officials at Myeik District guest house where he urged all to cooperate in the nurturing the new generation of athletes. He also called on to open other sports training courses, since Football for School Pilot Project is implemented successfully.

Next, officials, town-elders and committee members presented the measures for the development of sports sector and nurturing the athletes.  Upon the presentations, the Union Minister coordinated the needs, providing the sports gears. Then, town-elders donated 130 million Kyat for the development of the Sports sector in Myeik.

The ceremony concluded after delivering the closing remarks by the Union Minister. On 9th August, Union Minister visited the Yaypone football ground where he encouraged the trainees who were practicing football. He then provided cash assistance and instructed officials to keep regular maintenance for the football ground and provided the sports- assistance items.

At the guest hall of Myeik District General Administrative Department, the Union Minister met with Hluttaw representatives and discussed matters regarding to hold sports competitions, open Summer and Advance Sports training courses, and upgrade the sports grounds and stadiums. The Union Minister pledged that the Ministry will coordinate the necessaries and provided the certificates of hornor and gifts to the donors for Sports development.
