The seventh round of Lebanon-Israel talks in Rome concluded without a major breakthrough due to disputes over security zones, troop withdrawals, and Hezbollah's disarmament. During the talks, participants underscored the importance of upholding the current ceasefire and agreed to pursue a new United Nations Security Council resolution.

Despite the deadlock on territorial matters, the two sides exchanged preliminary lists of detained and missing persons.  It was learnt that the next round is scheduled for September 1.
