Brazil and Mexico on Thursday agree to continue their joint support for former Chilean President Michelle Bachelet's bid to become the next United Nations Secretary-General. It was originally launched as a joint nomination on February 2, 2026, by Chile, Brazil, and Mexico. The two nations maintain their backing even after Chile's shift in administration led to that country withdrawing its official state sponsorship.
