Agricultural Loan: Kayah State CM Attends Ceremony to Disburse Loans

The Kayah State Government held a ceremony at the Loikaw Township Hall on August 7 to disburse loans from the State Economic Promotion Fund to farmers who will cultivate monsoon crops for the 2026–2027 fiscal year, attended by Chief Minister U Ant Maw.

In his opening address, the Chief Minister stated that just as the Union Government is providing comprehensive support to develop the agricultural sector, the State Government is also coordinating with relevant departments to render necessary assistance.

He urged the farmers to effectively utilize the loans for their agricultural operations and to strive toward regional food security. And, the Chief Minister presented the agricultural loans to the farmers. Following this, other responsible officials distributed the agricultural loans to the recipients, after which a local farmer spoke words of thanks on behalf of all the farmers.

During the ceremony, 306 million Kyats in loans was disbursed to 112 farmers from 14 villages across the state. In total, 1,637 million Kyats from the State Economic Promotion Fund has already been issued to farmers in Kayah State for the 2026–2027 monsoon crop season.
