ECC Meeting: Environmental Conservation Committee held its meeting

Environmental Conservation Committee held its meeting at the Department of Environmental Conservation in Nay Pyi Taw on Thursday.

Union Minister for Natural Resources and Environmental Conservation U Hsan Oo in his capacity as Chairman of the Committee attended the meeting and made a speech. He elaborated on formation of 2 working committees and Union Territory, regions and states supervisory committees to accelerate the work implementations.

The Union Minister underscored that Nationally Determined Contributions-NDCs are submitted to the Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change. Moreover, procedures for national-level plastic management action plan and Coastal Industries and Urban Waste Management project were already issued.

Underlining the ongoing efforts to reduce fire hotspots and haze pollution across regions and states during open season, the Union Minister called on concerted efforts of committee members to ensure constructive operation of the committee in order to create a better environment for future generations. Then, clarifications were made on current environmental conservation works and further plans. The meeting was concluded with the closing remarks of the Committee Chairman.
