Economic Cooperation: President attends the Thai-Myanmar Business Forum

President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the Thailand-Myanmar Business Forum 2026 in Bangkok on Thursday, where government officials, business leaders and investors from both countries gathered to strengthen trade and investment cooperation and explore new opportunities for long-term economic growth.

Held at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre, the forum was organised by the Thai-Myanmar Association for Friendship under the theme "A New Chapter in Thailand-Myanmar Business Partnership." The event aimed to deepen bilateral economic engagement through the concept of "New Business, New Opportunities, New Growth," bringing together representatives from the public and private sectors to exchange views, expand business networks and encourage investment.

The forum was held part of President U Min Aung Hlaing's official visit to Thailand, extending bilateral engagement beyond government-to-government relations into closer economic and commercial cooperation. In his remarks, the President outlined visions for strengthening economic ties and encouraging greater collaboration between businesses in the two neighbouring countries.

Discussions during the forum focused on expanding cross-border trade, reviewing business regulations and identifying new opportunities in emerging sectors such as clean energy and digital technology, while continuing cooperation in traditional industries.
