Denmark to deploy soldiers to Greenland

Denmark plans to deploy over 100 military conscripts to Greenland for the first time.

This move is part of an expanded 11-month conscription program designed to bolster Arctic security and respond to mounting pressure and annexation threats from U.S. President Donald Trump. Officials in Copenhagen and Nuuk maintain that Greenland is not for sale and that its future belongs solely to its people and Denmark. Besides, European allies have previously expressed solidarity with Denmark over the sovereignty of the autonomous territory.
