Icelandic whalers return with catch as monitoring group reports 32 whales taken

Icelandic whalers processed whale carcasses after hunts conducted during June and July. During processing, workers removed a foetus from a dead female whale and examined the reproductive organs of a dead male whale. According to a monitoring foundation, around 32 whales have been harpooned so far this season.

The foundation also said the Icelandic Coast Guard boarded one of its monitoring vessels on July 31 while it was monitoring a whale hunt.
