






A meeting between the National Solidarity and Peacemaking Negotiation Committee (NSPNC) and the United Wa State Party (UWSP) was held in Nay Pyi Taw on 3rd August. At the meeting, Chairman of the NSPNC Lt-Gen Yar Pyae stated that it was the second meeting with the UWSP since the new government took office.
According to the discussions of previous Panghsang meeting, the Negotiation Committee had followed up on regional development and healthcare. Lt-Gen Yar Pyae encouraged further detailed discussions to achieve better political frameworks with the UWSP and urged open talks on necessary matters regarding education, health, transportation, and regional development.
Next, Vice Chairman of the United Wa State Party (UWSP) expressed congratulations once again on President U Min Aung Hlaing assuming the presidency. He stated that by consistently upholding the principle of the non-disintegration of the Union, they are carrying out practical cooperation for national peace and development based within the Union system.
He added that they support the ongoing peace process implemented by the Government, always abide by principles to resolve differences, and will strictly crack down various crimes such as narcotics and online scams while giving priority for public safety as the fundamental cornerstone. It is reported that the second day of the meeting will continue on Tuesday, 4th August.
