Myanmar / Pakistan: Religious Affairs UM Receives Ambassador

Union Minister for Religious Affairs U Tin Oo Lwin received Ambassador of Pakistan Mr. Tariq Karim on July 28 at the Ministry in Nay Pyi Taw.

During the meeting, the Union Minister stated that the two countries have enjoyed friendly cooperation since before regaining the national independence, and that promoting religious-based tourism is beneficial. The Ambassador mentioned that the two countries have maintained friendly relations and cooperation for many years, adding that religious tourism can be further developed.

The Union Minister further noted that trade and other economic activities could also be carried out in conjunction with tourism. The Ambassador assured that assistance would be provided regarding entry visas and other necessary matters. The Union Minister concluded by stating that both nations possess rich ancient cultural heritage, have collaborated for many years
