Turkish Justice and Development Party spokesperson Ömer Çelik said on Monday that legislation underpinning the government’s “terror-free Türkiye” initiative will be enacted before the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye adjourns.

Speaking after a party executive board meeting, Çelik said the process had entered a more delicate phase, with technical work ongoing to establish a legal framework aimed at securing disarmament and advancing the goal of a “terror-free” country and region. He added that beyond legal steps, maintaining a supportive political atmosphere would be critical, describing the current stage as “more critical” than earlier phases.
