








Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw U Khin Yi, together with Deputy Speaker U Maung Maung Ohn and officials from the Pyithu Hluttaw Office, met with members of the Health and Sports Committee Monday afternoon at Hluttaw Affairs Hall (I-13).
First, the secretary and members of the committee introduced themselves individually. Next, Committee Chairman Dr. Myo Tun, explained the committee's duties, responsibilities, and future plans, followed by individual presentations from committee members. Next, the Deputy Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw delivered the remarks.
Then, the Speaker of the Pyithu Hluttaw delivered the remarks stated that the Health and Sports Committee must analyze the current national situation, find solutions to enhance the health and sports sectors, and ensure those sectors reach a significant move. He urged the committee to study laws in detail so they can make amendments, additions, repeals, or enactments where necessary.
He also encouraged the committee to meet and discuss with relevant ministries, other related ministries, and international organizations to broadly work toward the development of the health and sports sectors. Furthermore, he requested the committee to collaborate with responsible officials to conduct field visits to health centers, private hospitals, clinics, and district- and township-level sports departments to report on their needs.
Regarding traditional medicine, he noted that the committee should review traditional medicine laws and work together to support the production of high-quality traditional medicines. In the afternoon, in the parlor of the Pyithu Hluttaw building, the Speaker met with guests from Lahe Township, Sagaing Region, who came to observe the 30th day of the Third Pyithu Hluttaw session, and explained the organizational structure, duties, and legislative processes of the Hluttaws, it’s reported.
