Space Sector: President Attends Myanmar Space Agency Event

President U Min Aung Hlaing attended the handover and live demonstration ceremony of completed technical projects at the Myanmar Space Agency (MSA) in Hlaing Township of Yangon.

The President was submitted reports by the CEO of MSA on partnerships with international space entities, private companies, universities, and government ministries. The President inspected scale models of the MAH-1 Earth Remote Sensing (ERS) satellite, its ground control station, and the ERS Application Platform.

The President officially pressed the button to launch the MAH-1 Satellite Ground Control Station and Multi-Mission Operation Command and Control (MOCC). And, attendees viewed a documentary highlighting the MSA's achievements completed within the government’s 100-day plan. And, the CEO presented 3D mapping data covering the entire country to the President, who then signed a certificate of honor recognizing the MSA's success.

At the event, the President stated that establishing the MSA fulfills a national dream. He emphasized that continued dedication to space technology will enhance national socioeconomic development and bring regional and global prestige to Myanmar. Following the ceremony, the President met warmly with Myanmar's shortlisted candidate astronauts, congratulating them and encouraging them to persevere in their training.
