Saudi Arabia, U.S. ink deal on nuclear energy

Saudi Arabia and the United States have signed an agreement on cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy, the Saudi Energy Ministry said on Thursday.

It aims to enhance cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy and facilitate the exchange of expertise, knowledge and technologies in line with the highest international standards of nuclear safety, nuclear security and non-proliferation, said the ministry. The agreement supports efforts to diversify energy sources, advance cutting-edge technologies, and expand opportunities for cooperation and investment that serve the mutual interests of the two countries, it added.
