Diplomatic Relations: Receiving the Vietnamese Ambassador

President U Min Aung Hlaing accepted the credentials of the newly accredited Ambassador of Viet Nam to Myanmar Mr. Ngu Anh Duc in Nay Pyi Taw on Wednesday.

The ceremony included saluting the national flags of Myanmar and Viet Nam, receiving the salute of the Guard of Honour who later played the national anthems of the two nations. After presenting the credentials, they discussed matters on the progress of diplomatic relations, friendship and cooperation between Myanmar and Viet Nam, and successful holding of free and fair multiparty democracy general election in Myanmar, along with the emergence of the new government.

The discussions also focused on promoting bilateral trade, investment and economy, collaboration in regional projects, holding of Cambodia – Lao PDR – Myanmar – Viet Nam (CLMV)  Summit and the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS) Summit. They also exchanged views on promoting tourism through friendly relations among the two people, reciprocal visits among the dignitaries, cooperation between the two parliaments and enhancing multisectoral collaboration between the two countries.
