Trump: Netanyahu will not be arrested while in the US

US President Donald Trump has said that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "will not be arrested, in any way, shape, or form, while in the United States of America." The International Criminal Court in The Hague issued an arrest warrant for Netanyahu in 2024 on suspicion of committing war crimes in relation to the conflict in Gaza.

Trump posted the comment on social media Monday in response to a New York Times interview with Mayor Zohran Mamdani published on Saturday. Mamdani spoke about taking action, including the possibility of detaining Netanyahu when the prime minister visits the city for the UN General Assembly in September.
