Union Minister for Hotels, Tourism and Culture U Maung Myint visited the National Library in Yangon on Saturday. He heard reports on the library's operations and provided guidance.

The National Library (Yangon) serves as the country's principal repository of published works and documentary heritage, preserving books, newspapers, journals, manuscripts, maps, and other valuable collections.

It also provides research, reference, and digital library services for students, researchers, and the public while promoting reading and preserving Myanmar's literary heritage through exhibitions, literary events, and educational programmes.

The National Library houses the book stacks and exhibition hall on the ground floor, along with a souvenir shop, CCTV Control Room, and Data Center. The first floor features a Multimedia Room, Audio-Visual Room, and Digital Room, while the second floor includes a general reading room, reference books, rare books, palm-leaf manuscripts, and ancient writing tablets.

The third floor contains a special reading room, facilities for persons with disabilities, a training hall, and a literature hall. The library also provides dedicated spaces for children, including a reading corner and a storytelling room.
